A Ghost Story 2017
This is an incredibly difficult movie to review. First off, it is unbelievably original. Within its genre – whatever that may be — this film is a masterpiece. While starting in a relatively straightforward way, with a silent, stalking ghost, the time–bending development was bracing, transforming this work into a kind of universal statement about connections to people, time, circumstance and one’s place in the universe.
Sad? Yes. Maybe even melancholy. But as the narrative circles back to where it started, you’ll find yourself changed. Don’t miss this.
