    Few good spooks throughout this one. A good mix of jump scares and eerie reveals. The movie opened quite strong I thought; good visuals, eerie vibe and upheld a good sense of mystery. The use of cursed objects/ oddities is a bit of a rip off from “The Conjuring” but was done in a unique enough way to still retain some dignity. The motivation of the antagonist was quite lame/passionless and quite unrelatable ie. Kind of just a shitty human.…

    Probably my 5th or 6th time watching this. Such a fun watch, a quirky and silly albeit convincing world populated by characters you can’t help but love. Some really great performances by the whole cast. Jeon Jong-Seo absolutely killed it as Mona Lisa, Her non verbal/ facial acting was punctuated perfectly by her scarce and abrasive dialogue. Ed Skrein’s character Fuzz is one of my favorite characters of any movie I’ve seen. The whole film is absolutely dripping with style…

    A heavy hitting cast that is somehow totally out manned and out gunned single-handedly by Joaquin Phoenix’s incredible performance of Freddie Quell. A wild ride of fingering sand castles, sipping on paint thinner, assaulting dissenters and toilets alike. The flow of the movie was a little slow, but had some great scenes.
