Not a ton of movies that set up their entire tone this effectively and quickly just to slowly crumble everything you thought you knew as it develops.
When this movie starts you’re invested as you would be with a regular movie but as it goes on, you enter a different place entirely. A type of engagement beyond the norm, you just enter the world entirely. This is my fourth watch and it gets better every time.
Probably my 3rd favorite Lynch project still.

David Lynch Cooks Quinoa 2007
No one has ever spoken words the way he has. In this 20 minute cooking tutorial he’s able to say things and describe things in ways that I just cannot fathom. I could hear him just list off countries like Greece and Yugoslavia for hours. I don’t even have anything remarkable to say, I just miss hearing him speak.
