Came back to this after a false start a couple of months ago where I guess I wasn't really focused enough to watch this.
This time I followed the film with purpose and in turn I was rewarded by it absolutely destroying me. Before I really understood what had happened the credits were rolling and I could not stop crying so yeah. It was a special experience.
