  Bad script, baffling story choices, too much Jack Quaid and not enough Iris, a joyless and mostly dull M3GAN where any and every attempt at a joke left me stone-faced like a factory reset android. No idea why this was well reviewed. 

  And for the love of god, somebody put the wick-ed-ly talented Sophie Thatcher in a GOOD movie.

  My homegirl and I would have just beat the shit out of dorky Hugh Grant if that were us. Great first 40ish minutes, steep nosedive in quality after that. Elevated by Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East. 

  Extra half star solely for my long-term boyfriend Topher Grace’s cameo appearance.

  I love that the criteria for a homosexual in this film is someone who cuts out cooking recipes from magazines, loves their mother a bit too much, and exchanges bits of gossip....all the while hyper-masculine Rock Hudson was secretly courting gorgeous young men behind the scenes...legendary.

  We’ll see what happens but I think this is an instant classic, I don’t see Oscars in its future but I think it might have staying power/may become a future cult classic. I can see how some would see this as a flashy, surface level rumination on how women are treated as they get older/how we betray our true selves with no thematic nuance but I don’t give a f**k… hit me over the head and assault my senses with…
