*Best Picture Watch 2025*

IN the theater, during the first half, I felt the disconnect. I felt like I wasn’t vibing with it too much with the cliche dialogue EVEN THOUGH I knew it was intentionally campy and cliche. When the 2nd half started, and I got further into it I really started to vibe with it. And upon reflection, I found the first half to be almost as strong as the second in the end.

Took me a little to get into it (think my 2nd viewing will be even better) but the amount of mastery in craft on display here from George Miller is insane. Some jaw dropping moments making me think “how the fuck did they film that”. A sprawling odyssey that delves more into character story, infused with more emotion and world building than the 2 hour adrenaline rush that is Fury Road.
