  A load of build up for little pay off. The ending fizzled, destroying any sense of mystery and intrigue built up over the already slow plot. I thought there would be gradual reveals that got progressively more intense and spiritual. I thought these “clues” would all come together and all the foreshadowing would come to fruition.   I grew up with these movies. They have shaped my world view. Without Studio Ghibli, I wouldn’t have as much magic in my life. Even having seen “Princess Mononoke” approaching a dozen times throughout my time, it never gets old. It feels like an evergreen classic song. I am always thrilled to share this film with people who’ve never seen it, because it feels like being able to experience it with fresh eyes. A formative, wonderfully inspired piece of art. Every frame is a painting.

  A shame how the script dragged the movie down. The production was so cool, and so was the world. I think there are much more interesting stories you could tell. Second half lost me. A great effort, beautiful movie, but just didn’t land the story.
