  My book club (gretchen and me) read the book with high hopes to watch the 1939 movie, however, upon starting it ( as well as trying the 2011 version) found that this movie is the most true adaptation to the story and its characters.

  i couldn’t get past depp’s stupid faces…. and then i was thinking about all the other movies he does those dumb faces in. his little grimace, the eyebrows. he can ACT, i hate seeing his face move the way it’s moving, just act. you know??
