Saturday Night 2024
I’m not a close follower of SNL so I don’t know the Lorne, sorry I mean lore, but this was electric. Cast was fucking killer, I’d start naming standouts but it would be everyone… but okay Rachel Sennott and Dylan O’Brien and Corey Michael Smith and Lamorne Morris and Matt Wood and… you get the point. Gabriel LaBelle’s performance leaves your anxiety building as the minutes tick by, even though we all know how this ends. The final act is such a crescendo of nerves and joy and excitement and for a moment I felt like I was in that audience almost 50 years ago. Bravo

Mia Goth was stellar (duh) and had fantastic supporting performances from Kevin Bacon (obsessed, like so good) and Giancarlo Esposito (daddy indeed lol). Very entertaining end to this incredible, genre-exploring trilogy.
The big reveal and subsequent scene sadly dropped this down a bit for me, but still very enjoyable overall. Whole theater was cracking up throughout the film. Sad to see it end but can’t wait to see what’s next from Ti West
