This is the same film people have been INSISTING I watch for years?
Too fucking long with long scenes where there was 0 suspense built. The characters were incredibly flat, and the plot was quite predictable… apart from the robot!
The practical effects were incredibly well done, especially considering the time the film was released.
I think I let other people’s praises raise my expectation for this film, and that resulted in my view of it as mediocre, at best.
The theater experience really affected my rating for this one, unfortunately. I’ll need to rewatch, for sure!
A seasonal rewatch of this film is a MUST! One of my favorite holiday movies!
