Not a hater, and I support Sean Baker and adore Mikey Madison, but we both know that this didn't deserve at least one of the five Oscars it won.
It does what it's meant to: positively representing sex workers and portraying real, human characters. Gen Z is captured pretty accurately and a broad range of tones are cleverly established, like with Ani’s sudden wardrobe change as she takes the train back home.
