From a fundamental perspective, this is the best show of this early year. It is incredibly acted, written, and directed. The use of having each episode be a genuine Oner (unlike those that stitch multiple takes together in the editing bay) compliments the tension that this show displays.

Im going to be completely honest. This was my first time watching a Spike Lee film and I am glad to report that this was an incredibly powerful and moving experience. Da 5 Bloods follows a group of black veterans who return to Vietnam to recover the remains of their squad leader, played brilliantly (in flashbacks) by Chadwick Boseman. This film is bad. The plot is so messy and generic. The writing and dialogue is stupid bad. And some of the characters are just cringe the entire time they are on screen. The only reason this isn't a half star movie?
