I feel like this is the sleeper hit of the Heisei era. It’s got a lot of great stuff going for it. Also maybe the most anime influenced Godzilla movie of the 90’s? Psychic children, humanity building a giant robot to counterattack the big G, a robot that coincidentally needs to be piloted by said humanity. Plus a baby Godzillasaur that’s telepathically linked to a girl, Godzilla, AND Rodan?? What is happening!?

If I have anything “negative” to say about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, it’s that it tries to do too much. It seems every idea they had they put it in the movie. But I still find 90% great. It gets way too much hate, and I don’t think I’ll ever understand why. It’s got all the charm, action and pulpy goodness that the first 3 have, it doesn’t take itself seriously, and everyone looks like they’re having a blast.…
When I was 4 years old I had a tape of Godzilla vs Megalon that my dad recorded from a SyFy (then Sci-Fi) channel airing. It was the gateway to my love of film and the start of my love for The Big G.
