  will never forgive my brother for making me and our whole family watch this shit. yall will see a square frame and think its peak cinema. i feel like this is a movie blatantly catered towards film bros who will see a black and white, square-framed movie with nothing interesting going on at all and say it’s the greatest thing ever made. I would get jumped if I added my rating and a full review.

  watched this in a hotel room in Sacramento, absolutely loved it. every time I watch a Greta Gerwig film there’s just something so gratifying about knowing that a movie was made with such care and genuine passion. my mom -who has never seen this- has always told my siblings and I that she likes us.   watched with my older sister, who doesn’t often like to sit thru movies, within the first 20 minutes she said “it must be easy as hell to make an A24 film”. the use of Blur’s song “tender” was interesting but I couldn’t help but think of the missed opportunity to play “death of a party” from the same album, which also would have been on theme but maybe a bit on the nose. overall, deeply depressing but not bad at all. great if you like dialogue driven movies.
