✝️ a surreal melancholic analog candy coated love-hate letter to teenage suburbia. a pale green & purple tinted vhs backroom film that laments & captures the lost, trapped, misplaced feeling of post-teendom in a culture that fails to understand u. this film is for those who feel deeply & consume media to gain an experience, art almost feels like an extension of ur psyche & u slowly cannot separate the viewed from the lived. the score creeps into ur head, the soundtrack lyrics…Translated from by -

a deeply allegorical work illustrating a narcissistic god & an ever-giving feminine source, that im so thrilled to revisit.antonofsky manufactures a dreamscape atmosphere simulating the powerlessness & involuntary passivity experienced in that of a hallucinative state. though im such a fan of tone set through score & soundtrack the film is all the more immersive with only the presence of ambient sound design & voices.

Irreversible 2002
(straight cut)
illuminates the story well but far less evocative in chronological order as it becomes evident the proper way to view the film is in release sequence as to complete the experience as established. but honestly the peak consumption is a b2b double feature <33Translated from by

Pieces of April 2003
as someone who also has a strained fatigued relationship with my mother & is existing with a sick parent who feels restricted to the nuclear familial mold, aprils story has so much earnest truth behind it. i found so many features were highly representative of the honesty that lies beneath the love of a family & things that go unsaid in the name of civility between blood relatives.
very very apt seasonal watch & sobering experience,
so many complex layered dynamics represented <3say hello to ur new spice rack member :))) 🪦💗🩷🩷

The Graduate 1967
beautifully shot. a dynamic, strange film bordering the edge of camp following an aimless yet promising young man at he height of his youth exploring unfamiliar desires of lust, emotion, & inadvertent love. not nearly a film i would watch on my own accord but thats a core perk of film club !!!! happy semester <33
