What an insane movie that audibly had me gasping and questioning the minds that made it happen in a good way. I also find it hilarious that ff coppola really tried to sabotage this film, like God forbid a film tackles human nature, death & euphoria, and capitalism, obsession & sex.
Lastly, having Catherine fujoshi out was so funny… need to queen out with her.

Mickey 17 was so fun, immersive and more romantic than i thought it would be. So inspired by bong joon ho’s ability to translate anti capitalist themes on to the screen. I wish i could pick his brain because of course the exploration of fascism, class and race (not even on an interspecies level but on a repetitive and historically human level) clearly come through and are well done for a zany sci-fi action movie. Incredible! Watched this with my mom who read the book and I was genuinely surprised with the final secret to be revealed. Like hello… the turtles… duh…I should've known.
There are 3 scenes I find particularly gorgeous:
1) the light shining through the broken church glass landing square on cardinal lawrence while his cassock flipped over him like a papal mozzetta
2) sister agnes’ exposé of truth and the invisibility of women
