Into the Woods 2014
It's way longer than I remember it being, which might explain why I haven't rewatched it until now and only listened to the few songs I adored. I liked how it took more inspiration from Grimm's fairytales than the Disney tellings, and the visuals were great, but it really didn't suit being a movie - it's definitely a stageplay. It also didn't help that a large number of the cast aren't singers, and there wasn't much acting to be done, so some scenes were a little painful to watch.

Jacob's Ladder 1990
I'll likely have to re-write this review after properly digesting this, but I adored this movie. There were so many powerful metaphors, that all tied back to other parts in the story, and the narrative was mostly non-linear. It really felt like we were in the main character's dissociative mind, even when we weren't, and the art direction was harrowing and unsettling. It had it's own atmosphere that felt suffocating and heavy, and I sincerely adored it.
