All flash and no substance. Way too much empty, meaningless dialogue amounting to nothing. I get what Wes Anderson was trying to do, with the whole 'finding your own meaning in things' motif, but it was lazily executed. Only gave a second star because of style.

So incredibly disappointed by this movie after all the hype it was getting??? I think people are getting way too caught up in the nostalgia (seeing old school MySpace, Facebook, AIM) to realize it was completely uninspired with a lackluster plot and characters. None of the plot lines amounted to anything or were explored in any deeper way (i.e., the grandma, fights largely unresolved). Halfway through watching I was thinking there’s absolutely no way THIS is the movie people are saying is so good and emotional - the only emotion I felt was boredom.
