Dune is very loud and very slow. A good adaptation of the novel! Jessica did not get enough screentime. She was more a worrying mother than the multifacted character she is in the book. Some shots were also just for the sake of visual eye candy or some pretentious artsy bullshit. Did we need to see that mouse 3 times? Paul's dream sequences were a HUGE letdown.
Other than that, Dune Part One is a new benchmark for contemporary sci-fi.…
