  I wish we’d have gotten more of this no-nonsense Allen because Cassandra’s Dream is about as good as it gets when it comes to moral-dilemmas and dark ramifications. The definition of slept on.

  Like many of Allen's films, Radio Days is an overt wet dream of the past, but this type of reminiscing becomes so enchanting when it's done like so.   This might’ve been it. I may have run out of straws with the MCU. I’m pretty much done with holding out hope for Marvel to return to the good ol’ days of releasing two, maybe three bangers a year. It was so much simpler then without the shows and the daily news of future projects. At this point I just want Kevin Fiege to bite the bullet and take a break with it all. Guardians 3 has my attention but otherwise this was a very sad swan song.

  To me, this watch really put in perspective how far we’ve fallen. It’s a simple case of sequelitis sure, but it’s a dang shame how the new status quo for blockbusters calls for a striking lack of detailed care and soul. Like I dare you, call up Spielberg and ask him if every shot, camera movement, or line of dialogue in this classic was not conscientiously placed.
