POWERFUL performances centralizing around a career precedent set by Lily-Rose Depp. In a movie cascading with fantastic standouts, Depp manages a spectacularly deranged and well executed showing, showcasing range that not only has she not displayed before, but rivals some of the big league performances I’ve seen.

I am not opposed to films with horrible protagonists. Similarly, I am not opposed to films with disturbing and often controversial material. Honestly, these are the films that sometimes shine the most. Some good examples off the top of my head are Irreversible and Monster.
