Spoiler alert yall: this movie was shot in first person. For being such an unprecedented way to shoot a movie, there is nothing gimmicky about the choice made by RaMell Ross and Co. The first person perspective is amazingly absolutely essential to both the structure of the story and the themes it’s exploring. It does take some getting used to.
