Why did they name this movie Pacific Rim, such a generic title that indicates almost nothing about the tone of the movie. It’s nice that Lindsay Lohan is back. Kind of feels like she’s picking up where she left off by going from Disney channel movies to Netflix romcoms, which in a bizarre way is both nostalgically comforting and subtly morose to me as a millennial. Like some things never change — the recognizably familiar has returned and will always be here — but also perhaps some things never change — have I, like Lindsay, gotten older but remained stagnant in my personal growth. A sobering reminder of the passage of time, the brevity of life, our imminent mortality.
The movie itself is unremarkable.
