gothic romance/horror fans we are back!!!
wow just truly an immersive experience all around. i was in love with even the simplest parts of the set such as the heaters in the scenes. the clothes were on another level especially with all the interest necklines for the women and the layering of the men. don’t get me STARTED on the cinematography. the acting was fabulous from each party we meet!
loses a star for me for the depiction of the Roma people and the throwing around of a slur i couldn’t shake off.

this movie is such a transformative tale to the bittersweet loss of innocence painted so masterfully by Studio Ghibli and guided underneath Miyazaki’s hand. the character designs are so interesting and eye-catching between that and the landscape of the film makes it film I can’t but long to see again for the first time.
