Andrew Garfield was so amazing in this! it was good but I have a feeling it just hit different for theatre kids… lots of cameos, references etc I just didn’t get

We Live in Time 2024
this was fine but couldn’t help comparing it to aftersun, which I think is a similar concept but executed much better. instead of feeling immersed in the story I felt like I was watching a montage and the characters felt a bit flat. some rly cheesy moments too (like when Andrew ate the sausage). I also can’t even remember the characters’ names — felt like I was watching Andrew and Florence, not whoever they were playing
But absolutely loved watching…

first movie of 2025, and what a way to ring in the year! this movie literally never gets old and is an eternal comfort as I very much do get old
can’t believe I never noticed Cecilia’s dad’s name was storm banks. and truly do love that this is filmed in australia….. when key plot point is hailey moving to australia….. I want to live in this world where mermaids are real, florida looks like australia, and cute sweet lifeguards (or mermaids??) take me to the last splash
