  John Le Carre is by far my favorite novelist. His tone and complex narratives are hard to get right. And adaptations of his work nearly always fall short. This is a rare series that not only captures the interiority but also the spy craft. Park was a surprisingly perfect fit for the material. And Pugh embodies this complicated character perfectly. Effortlessly.
  Shannon is nearly as good. Outstanding from start to finish.

  I don’t think there’s been more of a delta between my take on a film and that of the critics. This lazy, nonsensical script has more plot holes than surprises. More head scratchers than laughs.

  That's this entire movie, from beginning to end. Every. Single. Scene.
  And it's exhausting.
