  Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story 2023

  ★★★★½ Added

  Every Bridgerton development is better than the last. And this one will be hard to beat. From episode 3 onwards I was a blubbering mess. I just loved it so much I can only rant about it, so here are some bullet points:

  Mental Health (and not demonising it)
  Women who don't want to be mothers
  Women who are not great mothers
  Powerful women
  Women seeking pleasure (@ Violet's blooming garden)
  First LGBTQ+ storyline (how will Benedict's stpryline go?)
  Love, LOVE, LOVE

  Those two frickin smiling at each other.

  Minus a half star purely because they didn't let Brimsley and Reynolds grow old together.

  Lady Chatterley's Lover 2022

  ★★★★ Added

  While reading this book I spent a lot of time thinking 'there is no goddamn way they're going to frolick with flowers in their pubes'. More fool's me, I guess, because they bloody well did.

  Loved that the sex was sex, and that it's a little more fun than the book.
  Adore a changed ending to make a definitive happy ever after... the romantic in me can stand for some changes to the origina form.

  It might have been better not to remind the audience that Priscilla was a teenager… it certainly meant that later, I would remember that the “other women” were actually other teens. The slight white saviour undertones were also a bit icky. 

  Austin Butler’s performance was wonderful, so much so that I wish we could spend a little more time with him - not just his sweat -.
