i have nothing of substance to say except i'm a giant baby who can't watch horror films, but i love dracula so wanted to see this. pacing of it gave me 10/10 anxiety (is this the point?? is this why people watch horror??) but it looked pretty and I loved the lighting. thank you willem dafoe for staving off a panic attack

i watched this and the look of silence (2014) and unsurprisingly didn't sleep afterwards. the final scene where anwar is wretching while discussing the murders he's committed, as if the physical and emotional reality of what he has done is overpowering the lies he has told himself for the last (at the time) 50 years. haunting, terrifying, an enormous pit in my stomach that will take some time to settle but will never go away
