  For the first 20-30 minutes of Ruben’s deafness, the viewer hears what he’s hearing. A low, muffled sounds that can barely make out the beats of speech. It makes the viewer uncomfortable and actually feel something. I wish they would have constructed the whole film like that, because the story itself is rather boring. Not to mention it’s a visually ugly movie — shot like a documentary. Pass.

  Meh. Way too many themes all shoved together at the end of the movie after 1:15 of nothingness. Pretty corny performance from Benny C.
