It seems almost ironic that I watched this on the day of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. Only one word is needed to describe this movie; Over-hyped. Don't get me wrong, the movie did have its moments. I particularly enjoyed a good portion of the fight scenes, especially the synergy between Thor and Captain America, and the fight between Hulk and Iron Man. Ultron was a pretty bad-ass villain, however I almost wish he had less screen time because as the film…
A familiar story of Artificial Intelligence rejuvenated by outstanding performances from Gleeson, Isaac, and Vikander. A truly eerie setting inside the mansion of a wealthy CEO of a computer programming company juxtaposed with a vast, beautiful exterior. For Ava (Vikander), the inside of a small room and the mystery of the outside world is all she knows. With the help of a young, naive coder, Ava learns the intricacies of human interaction in her attempt at liberation from her controlling creator. Isaac's performance as a manipulative, unlikely genius is fantastic. It went through like butter.

Actually saw this movie twice... and not because it was good.
Chronicle is the epitome of cliche. Another mediocre found footage film plagued by melodramatic acting and laughable action sequences. I personally chuckled when Andrew was impaled. You know it's bad Michael B. Jordan plays a token black character who (surprise, surprise) is first to die.
Although it wasn't (Inter) stellar, it was a very good film. A complicated and confusing plot salvaged by a bone-chilling soundtrack and breathtaking cinematography, Interstellar is an enhanced version of the critically acclaimed movie Gravity. Matthew Mcconaughey gives a very Matthew Mcconaughey performance, which actually seems fitting in this role. The world developed by Christopher Nolan is nothing short of mesmerizing. Despite a wonderful soundtrack, the sound mixing struggled, as there were constant fluctuations between hushed moments of conversation and blaring music drowning out the dialogue. All in all, Interstellar is a space adventure that is worth a watch.
