Holy shit. This is one of the best films I've seen in years. It's also one of the most important.

From a filmmaking standpoint, it's incredible. The sound design is immersive in the worst way possible (I mean this as praise). It is oppressive and harsh, confronting the audience with the true horrors of Auschwitz. You never see any of the violence, but you most definitely hear it. Every second is terrifying, you hear it all: distant screams, gunshots, and…

'No Other Land' is a remarkable piece of documentary cinema by a Palestinian-Israeli collective, that documents Israel's forced occupation of Masafer Yatta.

There's some absolute ballsy filmmaking in this. Both Yuval & Basal risk their safety to tell this story, which I found to be incredibly admirable.

There's a tiny detail in the ending that differs from the book, and it fucking broke me.

It won't spoil it, but I will say (for anyone who's seen it) that it involves somebody answering a door. THAT WAS NOT IN THE BOOK! Why did you have to hurt me like that RaMell Ross?

I hate it when I go back to watch a movie I love, and it's not as good as it was when I first watched it. I love that it's in and out in about an hour, but I hate that it takes so many narrative shortcuts to get there.

Still enjoyed it, just less so.

Glad to see Hugh Grant still being an absolute slut 24 years later.

Drop "as Man" from the title, "Mid" is cleaner.
