this has genuinely and unapologetically been my favorite movie for like 5 years now. i have the first 20 minutes of this movie completely memorized and sometimes, when i’m bored, i watch the first 20 minutes. I’ve seen this probably at least 15 times, but I lost count, Hence, why I got Letterboxd.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol 2011
No shade but I was too intoxicated to fully comprehend the first 30 minutes of this and therefore cannot judge on the rest of the movie, but hooooooly shit are the stunts soooo good in this. The dvd I had, for some reason, did not change aspect ratio during the burj khalifa scene when it was projected in the theater so that kinda pissed me off (also cause I was showing to a friend who hadn’t seen before and whenever…

Pulp Fiction 1994
Ultimately really profound and moving. I love Jules so much and I wish that he was the focus of the film. His arc is the one most felt. Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
It’s hard to find any ounce of passion in this. This movie doesn’t care about its audience, its own characters, the other (better) movies that it relentlessly and poorly references, or the fascinating medium cinema can be.
Shawn Levy paired with Ryan reynolds (and Ryan reynolds as Deadpool) was a pairing that haunted my nightmares so it’s not surprising that I loathed every frame of this movie. I was over this before the opening title sequence even finished. Ryan Reynolds…

Queer 2024
I don’t even know how to review this. I have very minor gripes about allerton, the ayahuasca trip, and some setups/payoffs, but I feel like those will be arbitrary on a rewatch. God I loved this. Tons have already mentioned how well Luca directed this; the alluring and inventive camerawork, incredible performances, pacing, and its personality are all one of a kind and I can only agree and sing his praises even higher. This is his best directorial work so far. Idk what else to say that hasn’t already been said by someone else but better. I don’t think I’ll ever shake this
