Asteroid City 2023
I love Wes Anderson. From Bottle Rocket to Grand Budapest, his films are a part of my life, my history, my love of cinema. But this one is so far up it's own ass, it can't see daylight. Beautiful movie visually, but I feel absolutely nothing for anyone or anything that happens in the movie. Nothing feels real, so why should I care? Steve Zissou felt real. Francis Whitman felt real. Max Fischer felt real. Asteroid is just void of anything real. Maybe that was the goal. It just all adds up to nothing for me
