Still Alice 2014
I go back and forth on this film. I had a family member succumb to Alzheimer's disease and it portrayed it in a realistic and heartbreaking fashion, but I also take slight issue with how certain things happened.
I can't help but feel it was lacking something, although I can't pinpoint it.
Julianne Moore was wonderful, though, as was the rest of the cast.Translated from by -
Into the Wild 2007
Call the main character completely stupid, but I feel like that's missing the point of the film.
Who hasn't wanted to just pack up and escape from everything at one point? To live free without worries imposed by society?
This film had something to say, and I think it delivered. A little slow at times, but it was a journey that I'm glad I took.Translated from by

Lost in Translation 2003
I remember watching this movie at a very specific time in my life where it spoke directly to my soul.
It is a slow and quiet movie, but it has so much to say. It gave me a feeling that few movies ever do. The atmosphere absorbs you, the movie engrosses you.
I'm happy that this movie exists.Translated from by -
A Monster Calls 2016
As someone who lost a parent to cancer as a child, this movie was so incredibly personal that my review might be biased. But wow. It blew me away, it spoke to my soul, it spoke to the confused little girl that I was. A wonderful rendering of what it's like to be a child confronted by something so terrifying and unknown.
