    Like 2025 oscar alum The Brutalist, the film is about 20 minutes over -long and a better ending away from being a masterpiece. Not to say it wasn’t worth the watch, as it is definitely a fun (and slippery) ride.     Fine enough but a lack of great songs until the final “Defying Gravity” set piece make this an overlong bore. While the two leads are pretty engaging and can really sing , Michele Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum phone it in and actively detract from the film. 
    The design team are the true hero’s here, and the Emerald City train is one of the best and most inspired designs I have ever seen.
