If they made 100 Paddington movies, I would watch 100 Paddington movies.

Standard, middle-of-the-road MCU fare, though it exceeded tempered expectations. I buy Anthony Mackie as Cap, more so now than after Falcon and the Winter Soldier. His suit and tech were cool.

While the Red Hulk reveal in the trailers should have been reserved for the film, HOW Ross becomes Red Hulk was done pretty well. Harrison Ford is a welcome addition to the MCU and a nice extension of William Hurt’s portrayal of Ross. They could have done FAR MORE…

Saw the extended edition on a rerelease for Father’s Day.

Fellowship remains my favorite, but you cannot go wrong with:

    1. HELM’S DEEP!

    2. A proper introduction to Gollum

    3. The Frodo/Sam dynamic

    4. Gandalf THE WHITE!

    5. The Legolas/Gimli hijinks

    6. Merry and Pippin doing their thing with Treebeard

    7. Viggo Mortensen just being a BAD ASS as Aragorn

    8. The Theoden transformation scene—it still holds up.

    9. EVERY NOTE of the Howard Shore score

This movie looks like it was made last week, not 20+ years ago.

Ethan Herisse, Brandon Wilson, and ESPECIALLY Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor were great in this. A Terrence Malik-inspired, first-person POV structure that helped preserve the plot twist that made the book one of my favorite reads of the past five years. This one did justice to a modern classic of a novel. Ultimately, RaMell Ross was ROBBED of a Best Director nod.
