  Frozen tundra is a unique setting for a crime thriller, and the exploration of the hardships and twisted plights of the people that survive there even more so. I was thoroughly moved and shocked by the events of the third act. 

  That said the dialogue did feel more akin to a lower budget TV episode and as many have pointed out the lack of a female Native American lead (or presence entirely outside of the murder victim) in a film dedicated to the injustices they face is glaring.

  It's my first experience with Wicked in any medium so I have no idea how well the source material was adapted but I had such a good time that occasional bad vfx etc didn't bother me at all. I hope I haven't had a Musical Theatre awakening or something.
