Midnight Cowboy 1969
The kind of movie I'd probably make—excellent fits, psychosexual dynamics, bleak tone. Voight nails his part as the vain, naive, wannabe-hustler, and Hoffman really goes for it as the eternally down-on-his-luck slime-ball. Even though this film is well over 50 years old, it feels super modern.
I wonder what a sequel would look like—how does Joe Buck fare in Florida?

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood 2019
I'm still mourning the loss of Tarantino's long time editor Sally Menke. All his films after her death have been plodding and overlong.
This one is too, but I found this depiction of 1960's Hollywood irresistible... the clothes, the cars, the music on the radio. All the actors put on excellent performances and they are all extremely good looking.
