Third time rewatching, must be the only person saying that but Chloe is simply on a challenge to watch all films from the great Parker Posey - whose in this 3 hour adventure for all of 10 minutes.
After seeing all of Ari’s features a few times now, ‘hereditary’ is a pretty great film that triumphs above his other two features. ‘Midsommar’ took me a while to come around, I came around, and then I wasn’t very bothered by it.…
Love this whole bland and beautiful British aesthetic. The whole filmmaking elements hit hard after I just graduated my film degree last summer. It seems incredible the creative struggles and conversations that take place. What a dream.
Ah. Oh no. It’s trauma and it’s beautiful and Andrew Scott & Claire Foy are great. I just found that I was maybe trying to pin point things a little too much, perhaps my fault. I guess there’s a ‘dream-like’ element to the entire film but I found in the more real moments I was taken out of it. Also working at the cinema = people spoiling the ending so some emotional moments are ruined by anticipating them.
There’s still a lot of thought provoking moments and it’s an interesting story. The filmmaking and screenplay perhaps could’ve been elevated.
