Q & A 1990
A genuine example of a "movie you couldn't make today". The level of casual racism is astounding viewed through the lense of our current era. But, this feels authentic to the period and it's an examination of these ideas and predudices, not an indorsement. And Nick Nolte has never been better. He's completely off the rails. He is one intimating mother fucker in this one. Perhaps a little flabby from a pace perspective: some scenes probably could have been cut, but overall a fantasticly entertaining movie from the master Sydney Lumet. Terrible soundtrack also.
