Great movie. Spielberg handed down THE most accurate rendition of the allied landing at Omaha beach in the opening scene. It bothers me that they claimed there was no allied armor on the beach that morning though as that’s historically inaccurate. I’m also not sure what to think about the entire storyline after the invasion of Normandy being made up. I do appreciate the added nods about the history for instance the two Czech men getting mistaken for German Nazis…
I really enjoyed while watching this but I thought it fell short of what could’ve been. This film had everything it needed to not only be a blockbuster and film of the year candidate but a film of the decade candidate.
