This was a beautifully written and performed film in my opinion. I felt there were a lot of parallels between the novel and this film. I was pleased to see so many integrations with their child selves. The subtle nods to the connection between Eddie and Richie leading to the sad, mournful, yet beautiful ending to their story with Richie finishing the engraving was something that really stuck with me.

This film is my favorite comedy-horror film of all time next to the original Ghostbusters. It really breathed fresh air into the genre when it was released and I feel like it’s entirely too underrated. Taika and Jermaine did fantastic with this and I hope Taika’s fanbase with his directing of Thor: Ragnarok and the next Thor film, not to mention the new TV show, will expose them to this. If you’re a fan of this specific sort of slapstick comedy, it’s an instant pick-me-up that will have you rolling with laughter!

This is my favorite of the franchise. I feel like it tied up the loose threads with Nancy and gave her a heroic ending. Patricia’s acting was very good in my opinion. I also loved the concept of the kids being able to controls aspects of their own dreams as well.
