at first all i could think was, “these characters are just caricatures of actual people,” but then somewhere in the middle the movie just took off, now all i want is a music boyfriend.
And it reminded me how much I love(d) mannerisms, and watching someone make a particularly facial expression, move their eyes in a drawn out way or say something in a particular way that just scratches my brain in all the right places.

I saw this in theaters with a live organist scoring the whole film.
I loved how the son was so childlike even in the way he dressed or handled conflict early in the movie. Very compassionate, kind, simple.
The machine-man scenes were wild to watch her moves were incredibly dramatic and seductive but in this weird humorous way. (also so many funny bits)
