North by Northwest 1959
Cary Grant I mean Jesus. Eva Marie Saint reminds me of an 8th grade crush. Lovely pace and I enjoy that the viewer must practice patience. Really like the script as it felt elaborated and just as in most movies set in this era, the focal point is the dialogue. Great stuff!

The Count of Monte Cristo 2024
Yes, it was long, and some of the scenes had obviously been substantially shortened to keep the movie under 3h - but I felt like I aged with the movie. Setting the film in different acts was a great way of sequencing. I liked it.

The Pink Panther 1963
Encapsulated in the classically playful 60’s cinematography, this film portrays the romance of early modern cinema. Although it is not on par with the best films of the era, I can’t help but love this film. Witty and comedic whilst captivating and sharp in its dialogues. Simple but elegant. Films of this era required a certain degree of patience from their audiences, something that is often missed in today’s movies. When reading between the lines, this film is a study in chivalry and seduction - both figuratively and literally. Henry Mancini composing caps it off.
