  queer love stories set in rural america, my beloveds! this had all the moving moments fans of brokeback mountain long for but with a tender, albeit slightly bittersweet, ending. the love interest in this is a right sweetie and the script was surprisingly good for a low budget film. deserves better recognition!

  this was a tender and excruciating watch, kind of like easing an aching tooth with your tongue. none of the characters were particularly likeable, but yet you wanted the best for them because they're just humans trying their very best? some really pretty cinematic shots and a lot of language to cover silence which oddly makes the words more hollow and a little lonely. so very human, and so very lovely. minus one star because i wish the ending was fleshed out a little more.

  the moral of this movie is: reimagine don’t remake! pinocchio was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, largely because the plot was insanely unpredictable. a puppet pummelled his way into my heart, sebastian had me in stitches and spazzatura was a surprisingly sweet addition to a makeshift family. a moving take on grief, the lengths we are willing to go to for the ones we love & the importance of perseverance. james and the giant peach vibes, except the peach is a puppet and the rhino is a sea monster from hell.
