The Monkey 2025
I guess I’m in the minority here but I found The Monkey entertaining and leagues better than the total bore that was Longlegs. Gross but not too gory for my taste, the humor worked for me, and I found the monkey effectively creepy. I like a silly gross horror movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Evil Dead Rise 2023

I was at an advance screening of this in a full theater with a lot of excited people. There was a group of mildly annoying guys behind me but one of them screamed “Staffany!!” at just the right moment. Fun movie to watch with an enthusiastic crowd.
Honestly pretty entertaining overall tbh, although far too gory for my taste (I covered my face for about 30% of the movie). Dope opening scene + title reveal.
Caveat: I did watch Nothing But Trouble earlier today so that affected my rating (everything is good compared to that).
