i couldn't stop crying for the last half hour of this film
i rewatched arrival hoping to reconnect with it on an academic level—seeing as i currently major in language at university—and i came out of it thinking, "fuck language." i could not be able to convey what i felt or the gravity of it with words no matter how much i try. it's all so inherently personal, and this movie was such an incredible journey — the score, amy's performance, dennis' vision.
