complicated thoughts on this one, took me awhile to distill. enjoyable acting performances, generally distinct and humorous characters but i think this is a film that you can truly only enjoy if you take an extremely shallow perspective or are a pretentious cinephile. i get that shawn baker is trying to subvert the viewer’s expectations blah blah blah by draaaaawing out the second act but at the end of the day was that an effective choice? methink no. the pivot…
