  Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 1987

  This was really nothing much.
  The conflicts in the story are entirely avoidable and the characters are mostly pretty flat. The main villain is just „Macho military maniac“, the female pilot is „the badass pilot“ and the main characters perfect, gorgeous, caring girlfriend is only „the main characters perfect, gorgeous, caring girlfriend“. 

  Still overall this is just a light hearted watch to turn your brain off to. Also, both Artstyle and music are great

  Appleseed 1988

  Overall just a very solid OVA. Pretty to look at, especially the robots and character designs, accompanied by a great soundtrack. 
  The story itself also wasn’t half bad, the ending felt a bit lackluster tho. 

  Also, compared to other works of it’s time this is surprisingly tame.

  With all the events of the original anime and first movie fresh in mind this film definitely managed to improve on a rewatch. 

  Kaede‘s arc in this is great and continues the buildup from the show perfectly, while also hinting at the next adolescence syndrome. 

  So overall, pretty good and it’s very wholesome to see how everyone comes together to help Kaede out.

  1883 certainly isn’t a bad show, it’s just a show I couldn’t fully enjoy. Maybe it is because I watched it while lying in bed with a splitting headache or maybe it’s just because the quality of the show just isn’t on the level it is praised to be. I can’t say. 

  The show had multiple good ideas, but couldn’t  always make the most of them. Developments are often infuriatingly rushed, especially when it comes to Elsa and the show doesn’t…
