  Generous 2 stars because the woman was pretty BUT THE FILM WAS SO DEPRAVED, met the director and wanted to ask him how he came up with something so sick (literally)

  Excruciating, poignant, dark and greatly saddening. The story primarily follows a kid in the streets of Bombay, one of the many marginalized, trying to gather up money and go back to his home village. Besides him, all other characters also tell a profound story of their own, each suffering their share of the misery. As someone rightly said "this film wins your heart only to break it". My first Mira Nair film and definitely a good start.
